Slow Brainwave Frequencies

Slow brainwaves (alpha (11.9 hz-8 hz), theta (7.9 hz-4 hz) and delta (3.9 hz-.01 hz) integrate the function of the whole brain resulting in peak performance, general improvement in wellness and well-being, improved memory, enhanced intuition and creativity, and superb learning and intellectual performance. Thus, alpha, theta, and delta waves are the most beneficial brainwave frequencies experienced by your brain. Meditation slows down our brainwaves. Daily practice of meditation changes the brainwave frequencies of the brain and enables the mind and body to function at optimal levels. Alpha brainwave frequency produces a relaxed state of body, mind, and spirit. It usually occurs during focused meditation (concentration), and relaxation. It becomes prominent at the beginning of higher levels of consciousness when the meditator is thoroughly relaxed with eyes closed. This type of wave frequency integrates whole brain functions and activities, induces calmness and peace of mind, produces a higher level of awareness and resourcefulness, and enhances creativity. Alpha frequency also induces a peaceful and harmonious state of mind, a powerful state of memory accompanied by super-learning, and effortless flow of creativity. It enables all individuals to replace destructive habits, fears, worries, and irritability with constructive habits, courage, confidence, and tranquility. Alpha is the dominant brain wave activity when body and mind are relaxed and in harmony with the spirit. Closing the eyes for a minute increases the manifestation of alpha brain wave activity. However, the beta brain wave takes over and becomes dominant on opening the eye. Alpha brain wave activity commonly manifests among sages and highly creative individuals with clear and relaxed minds. Theta brain wave frequency which occurs mostly at the threshold of the subconscious state, during sleep, dreams, or altered states of consciousness, integrates and unifies whole brain activity, induces creative imagination and inspiration, and promotes super memory, super learning, and supernatural brain power. Theta wave is associated with deeper relaxation, enhanced state of creativity, and sleep-dream activity. It accompanies a spiritual experience, a highly-creative state, or a high level of spiritual consciousness. Deeper levels of both physical and mental relaxation, as experienced during concentration, contemplation and meditation facilitates theta brain wave activity. In general, children tend have higher amount of theta waves than adults, as such; children are not always as stressed out as adults. No wonder Jesus told His followers in the Gospel of Mathew that “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of God” (Matthew 18: 1). The simplest and best way to be like little children and enter the kingdom of God is to meditate and let alpha waves dominate the adult brain. Delta brain wave frequency is the slowest of all human brainwaves. It induces deep sleep, decreases overall body metabolism, including decreased respiration, decreased blood pressure, and decreased body temperature. It also releases the youth hormone commonly called human growth hormone because it is associated with youthful vigor, vitality and radiant health. Delta wave induces the most deeply relaxing state of mind and body coupled with non-physical awareness. Usually associated with the unconscious mind, delta wave provides access to spiritual consciousness, induces a decreased sense of physical and mental awareness, increased empathy, and harmony of self with God and other beings. Delta brain wave frequency manifests mostly in super achievers, in individuals like Jesus of Nazareth, with higher levels of spiritual consciousness, deep intuition, and supernatural healing powers. Only avid meditators, highly spiritual individuals, monks, and yogis are privileged to access this brainwave range. Jesus Christ was among the blessed individuals who were able experience delta brainwave activity. By meditating daily with a clear mind, Jesus was able to gain access to all levels of brainwave frequency which assisted Him to keep His brain, mind, and body working at optimal levels.
